Fadwa Al Qasem is a Palestinian-Canadian mixed media artist and bilingual author currently residing in Calpe, Costa Blanca, Spain. Known for her vibrant and thought-provoking artwork, Fadwa draws inspiration from her cultural heritage and the complexities of identity,
belonging, and resilience.
Fadwa creates art as a means to explore and address themes of human rights, immigration, and historical injustices, with a particular focus on the experiences of women across cultural and religious contexts. Her work juxtaposes joy and freedom against urgent societal issues,
using visual narratives, installations, and poetry performances to provoke thought and inspire dialogue.
Through her art, Fadwa seeks to engage audiences in the complexities of the human experience, inviting them to reflect, connect,
and find hope amidst challenges. Her creations serve as a call to action, illuminating the transformative
power of art to inspire change and foster healing.
Fadwa has participated in numerous exhibitions and authored four collections of short stories, contributing to three anthologies, an art book, and various book covers. Additionally, she is the creator of the "I Am What I Art" Manifesto, which reflects her artistic philosophy.
