(No longer available)

Inspired by a poem I wrote as a child The Girl Who Once Loved Pink .. It’s strange that after all these years, I still love pink. This piece is designed with three luscious rows of delicious semiprecious pink quartz and handmade glass cube beads. The clasp is silver plated.

This bracelet was traded with Andrea Joseph for some of her fabulous molezines and artwork. Please visit her site and have a look.

There is a matching necklace for this bracelet. Check the Necklaces Page.

Soft dreamy desert January 17, 2009 at 3:20 pm

The mixed media collage was I create and post here are images I use as inspiration for mixing bead colours and textures. For this piece I used paper, a knitting sampler and even some desert sand.

Harmony January 9, 2009 at 5:17 pm

Gray-black Hematite and polished white mother of pearl, mixed with silver from India, Yemen and Afganistan. Would look very bold on black, white but best of all, on red!

Price: $65.00

Chunky Turquoise Bracelet at 5:13 pm

Lovely turquoise nuggets from Nepal. A simple statement for those who love turquoise as nature intended. The beads are separated by small silver discs from Afghanistan. The bracelet is elastic.

Price: $55.00

Coral & Crystal at 4:53 pm

Coral in a very unusual cut, from Spain. I mixed the coral branches with silver-tipped, opaque deep blue crystals. There is a single red crystal bead sitting in the midst of it all - I guess it’s my rebel’s statement on conformity. The bracelet is elastic.

(This piece was given as a gift to a friend and is no longer available for sale)

In the festive mood January 1, 2009 at 11:14 pm

This year the Muslim Eid and Christian Christmas come together again – there is a symbolic unity in there somewhere which I hope can extend to somehow bringing people closer to understanding how similar they are and that the differences are very, very small. I wrote before about the power of the bead (http://www.fadwa.com/?p=94) and how this method of meditation, relaxation and remembering God is shared by so many religions and beliefs across the world. Added to this is the pure tactile pleasure of running the semiprecious, precious or glass, stone and wooden beads through your fingers.

To celebrate this coming together, I will be giving away 5 bracelets/anklets to 5 lovely women who will write to me with about an inspiring experience they had or shared that has brought peoples of different beliefs together.

This is a very personal idea, and I will be reading and choosing the emails, and I will select a piece to send the winners. Participants accept that shipping will be COD, and I will send the items by courier (Aramex). I will also publish all suitable letters received, if any, next month.

I wish all my visitors and clients a Happy Eid and a Merry Christmas.

Enjoy!
