Soft dreamy desert

The mixed media collage was I create and post here are images I use as inspiration for mixing bead colours and textures. For this piece I used paper, a knitting sampler and even some desert sand.

Harmony

Gray-black Hematite and polished white mother of pearl, mixed with silver from India, Yemen and Afganistan. Would look very bold on black, white but best of all, on red!

Chunky Turquoise Bracelet

Lovely turquoise nuggets from Nepal. A simple statement for those who love turquoise as nature intended. The beads are separated by small silver discs from Afghanistan. The bracelet is elastic.

Coral & Crystal

Coral in a very unusual cut, from Spain. I mixed the coral branches with silver-tipped, opaque deep blue crystals. There is a single red crystal bead sitting in the midst of it all - I guess it’s my rebel’s statement on conformity. The bracelet is elastic.

This year the Muslim Eid and Christian Christmas come together again – there is a symbolic unity in there somewhere which I hope can extend to somehow bringing people closer to understanding how similar they are and that the differences are very, very small.
