Deliciously soft discs of brownish-pink, or are they pinkish-brown, agates mixed with treated shell beads, and silver beads. The necklace lies flat against the neck and feels so smooth and cool on the skin. The agates and shells are from Spain, the silver from Morocco.

Tiger’s Eye Bracelet - for me

I created this bracelet to match the ring I bought earlier. I wanted something with details, texture, variety and something that was definitely not uniform. I used smooth tiger’s eye beads, chips and accented them with silver tubes from Morocco, a silver tassel from Yemen, and gold plated roundels from the UK. Blue Agate Necklace

How soft and satiny these blue agates are! I fell in love with them the moment I saw them. Such a pleasure to touch. I mixed them with pure silver rondels from Morocco, textured and patterend silver, and a mixed blue and brown agate pendant fron Yemen, with great silver details.

Sometimes I make jewelry just for me

One of the most interesting and fun things to do (for me, anyway) is to search the old, traditional souks for treasures. I found these lovely calligraphy pendants in a small shop at a remote, rarely visited mall. I loved the calligraphy, and the pendants’ shapes and textures. So I added the amethyst beads and a touch of “gold” in the shape of tiny separators. I love wearing both of them together. Have a look at the sketch I made of these designs here. What do you think?

Sometimes all the things I do seem separate. But mostly (and especially lately) I’m finding that they all collide. The more I try to keep them all distinctly apart, the harder I find it to update my 3 blogs regularly. So, I’ve decided from today to let things flow freely between them all, as everything seems to flow freely in my mind, in my journals and in my studio. To actually let my blogs reflect a more true representation of how I continually leap and bounce from one idea to another, from one project to another, from one journal to another, from one creative endevor to another.

Sometimes I am so clear about what I want to do, or create, sometimes its confusing and frustrating. But, most of the time it’s interesting and surprising. I like that

Rose Quartz Bracelet

For this piece, I mixed highly textured Rose Quartz Roundels, faceted and satiny, with a very special silver bead that was hand-made in Morocco, and a bullet-shaped Tourmaline stone that is purple hued. I love playing with colours, textures and forms, and I tend to steer away from anything too symmetrical. The delicate flower clasp is silver plated and adds a touch of magic.

Carnelian Bracelet

I bought these smooth and silky Carnelian nuggets in Spain. I loved the unevenness of the stones and how each seemed to have its own light, its own shape, its own personality. I used a variety of textured pure silver beads to frame each Carnelian nugget. I bought the silver from Morocco and Turkey. The bracelet is elasticated.

Amethyst Bracelet (2)

I love amethyst! This bracelet was designed with a selection of amethyst stones of various sizes, shapes and textures. Some are smooth round balls or deep purple, some are glistening faceted balls, and some are faceted roundels. I’ve also used lovely silver beads from Morocco and Turkey. The delicate flower clasp is silver plated and adds a touch of magic.

Luscious Moss

Inspired by that delicate plant that has survived almost without change since plants came to land; the soft and delicate moss. Mosses have no need for stems or roots, but it likes moist areas. And wouldn’t you know it, that the Japanese have discovered the best ways to use moss to add beauty and wonder to their gardens. For they have gardened with moss for many centuries; not only does moss have a reduced need for watering and its greenness, but also it adds an aura of lushness and serenity to Japanese gardens.

Green, like all colour, has many symbolic values and affects us in many ways although we may not always be aware of it. The colour green has always been indicative of life and regeneration, and according to Feng Shui, green is a benevolent, humanistic color.

This necklace is designed with green agate and other green semiprecious stones, and as such, it combines the spiritual power of green is combined with that of agate. According to modern healers who use stones in healing, green agate encourages compassion, generosity, good fortune and a keen sense of justice. Green agate is also said to work well on the heart chakra and helps things to grow.

I also read that green agate is widely used for improving the power of speech – they say it is highly recommended for politicians (I guess many of our politicians have not been advised of this), sales representatives, teachers, preachers – anyone who needs to have good command of speech to make their life easier (husbands?).
